Movies != real life

According to a passenger who was aboard a cruise ship that was "struck by a freak seven-story-high wave" (msnbc.com), "'It looked like the Titanic.'" Ok. And he would know how, exactly? The article mentions that this man (Robert Clark) was traveling with his wife and 7-year-old daughter. Which means, in all probability, this guy's mother wasn't even alive when the Titanic sank. So what memory, exactly, is he drawing upon to make this comparison?

Why, his memory of the movie, of course. Because seeing a movie is just like experiencing the real thing.

Um, also, the Titanic wasn't struck by a big wave, it smashed into an iceberg. And it broke in half and sank. People--most of the passengers, in fact--died on the Titanic. People had cuts and bruises, and maybe lost some luggage on the Norwegian Dawn, which did not, in fact, sink. Or even come near to sinking. Soooo, the basis of his comparison is even less clear. Incidentally.
