Regarding Julianna's comment on the previous post, my actual dentist didn't tell me that, about the straw-drinking. Fortunately I'm a hypochondriac, so I googled the crap out of it before and after, and discovered that I should avoid straws that way--or else I would certainly have dislodged my clots by now. Although, that would mean that he would get to collect more money from my insurer when I went back. Actually, funny thing: the assistant asked the dentist if he'd like to take some more x-rays, to get a better view of the teeth in question, and he was like, "nah, well, wait, what's her insurance? Oh, Delta? We'd better get those x-rays then." I guess it's nice-ish that if he though I would have to pay out-of-pocket for them that he'd try to forego the additional x-rays, but geez, it makes me really glad I did have good insurance, because even I could figure out that the initial x-rays didn't give a really clear view of all my wisdom teeth. Sucks for poor people.

God. I hate dentists.
I swear.
They never told you to avoid straws or smoking or suction of any kind???? I am pissed.
Delta is AWESOME insurance so that is why he decided to take the post op x-rays...at $30 a pop, that is a cool $90.00 he got extra.....nice.....fuckers.
I swear.......I hate dentists.
I hope you are feeling okay. Hang in there. You are almost over the worst of it. Remember, the third day is always the worst.....for anything medical.....colds, flu, surgeries, sprains......EVERYTHING.
You're doing great.
I HATE your dentist. I do hope he was at least an oral surgeon. If not, your dentist got paid what a specialist gets paid for pulling your wisdom teeth......if so, I hate him even more.
Advil is awesome for pain and swelling.

Pretty sure he was a general dentist, not a specialist--he's the same guy who did the exam at my initial cleaning. At least I was well and thoroughly anesthetized, even if I was mostly on my own for post-op. Actually, once I'm in a permanent position and I know I get to keep my insurance I think I'll look harder, since this guy is a bit of a sleazebag. Also I don't get a little baggy with a new toothbrush and stuff after my cleaning. I'm supposed to buy my own?! The dentist is supposed to supply half my yearly toothbrushes.
